FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Philadelphia, PA, October 29, 2007 -- Teaching Strategies, Inc. today announced today its sponsorship of the Democratic presidential debate on October 30th at Drexel University. This support will increase the candidates' awareness of the critical importance of early childhood education. "Given the robust benefits of quality early childhood education not only to young children but also to society as a whole, it is imperative that this issue be brought to the attention of the candidates," explained Grant Davies, CEO of Teaching Strategies.

The foundation for building a strong future begins early in life, so Teaching Strategies is committed to making a difference in the lives of young children. Research shows that critical brain development occurs during the period of birth through age 5, and studies indicate that children who receive high-quality early education are significantly more likely to be productive, contributing members of society years later. Economists, led by Nobel Laureate James Heckman, affirm that investing in early education is one of the wisest investments a society can make. Early education measures that support high-quality programs should be a priority in the coming election year.

The Democratic presidential debate will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. (EST) at the Philadelphia-based university. Brian Williams of "NBC Nightly News" will moderate, and the debate will be covered by NBC and MSNBC.

Teaching Strategies is well-known for its research-validated curriculum and assessment materials, including The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool and The Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers & Twos, two of the most widely used early childhood curricula in the country. The company recently acquired MindNurture, known for its LearningGames® products. The materials were first used in the highly acclaimed Abecedarian Project, one of the most successful early childhood programs ever implemented in the United States.

Teaching Strategies, Inc. is a woman-owned company committed to making a difference in the lives of young children by providing scientifically based educational materials to preschool and infant-toddler programs worldwide. Believing that our country's future depends on our ability to nurture the optimal growth of every child, the company's mission is to enhance the quality of early childhood programs by offering practical, innovative, and developmentally appropriate curriculum materials; training services and materials; and parenting resources. Teaching Strategies products are used in thousands of Head Start and other preschool programs throughout the country, including programs run by all branches of the military and by the Department of Defense schools.
