Family Connection Overview

At Teaching Strategies, we view families as important partners in children's learning. Teachers who foster trusting partnerships with their children's families are often rewarded with a deeper insight into individual children's learning styles and developmental progress.

However, we realize it takes time and effort to build these relationships. You need to understand and respect a child's culture and keep families up to date about their child's activities. Our Family Connection resources will provide you with the support you need to help children navigate between their two most important worlds--school and home. They will strengthen your partnership with families in a meaningful and respectful way, and you'll discover more effective strategies and ideas to encourage families to actively participate in planning their children's learning experiences.

Family Connection also offers resources for families. These resources provide fun, easy ways for families to interact with their children during everyday experiences that will extend learning and send the message that adult-child relationships are the building blocks to success in school and in life.
