The Creative Curriculum® E-Mail Discussion Group is a free, "opt-in," non-commercial e-mail list owned by Teaching Strategies and hosted by HIS.com. The group is open to anyone but is composed primarily of educators who share ideas about their work by e-mail.
When you subscribe, your e-mail address is added to a list. Other members cannot see your e-mail address unless you send an e-mail to the group. Discussion group e-mail is distributed only to people who have subscribed or otherwise given permission.
The list allows you to post questions and discuss ideas about The Creative Curriculum and other related topics with hundreds of educators around the world. Our authors and staff members also participate and frequently answer questions and share ideas.
Be prepared. This can be a very active list. There are sometimes as many as 12-25 posts per day. If the list interests you but overwhelms your e-mail inbox, you can change your subscription so that you receive the "digest" version. This means you will get only one e-mail each day containing all the posts from the past 24 hours.
The list is managed and moderated by Teaching Strategies staff. If you have problems, questions, or concerns, please

More Specific Rules About The Creative Curriculum Discussion Group
- Subscription Requests: Do not post to the list your request to leave the list. If you would like to change your subscription, please complete the unsubscribe request form or follow the directions to change to digest listed above.
- Subject Lines: Use clear subject lines that indicate the contents of your message.
- Short Responses: Do not send one-line responses or responses that do not add substantively to the discussion.
- Long Responses: If your post is very long, please add "(LONG)" to the subject line.
- Excerpt the Previous Message: When you respond to a post, it is helpful to have the context of the post, but please cut out those parts of that message that are not relevant to your response. Don't include the entire previous message in your reply (be selective).
- Copyrighted Materials: Members are prohibited from posting copyrighted information to the list. Also, please be aware that all e-mail messages are considered copyrighted by the author of the message. It is illegal and unethical to forward another person's e-mail message to the list without permission from that person.
- Signatures: Please sign all of your messages. It is often helpful to include your professional affiliation that relates to your membership in the group.
- Postings to Individual Members: It is often more appropriate to respond to the sender directly, rather than to the post. If you think your response will not interest most of the members, you should send a reply to an individual list member only. To do so, change the address in the "To:" field of your outgoing message to the individual member's e-mail address, not the list discussion address.
- ECE Jobs and Conference/Event Announcements: Job and conference or event announcements that are related to early childhood education generally are appropriate.
- Commercial Posts: Commercial postings are not acceptable, unless they are from Teaching Strategies, Inc.
- Attachments: Attachments are prohibited. If you need to exchange documents with other members, please do so directly, not through the list.
-
Questionnaires: Posting a questionnaire or other type of survey to the list is not acceptable. If you would like list members to complete a survey, send a URL to an online survey or ask members to contact you so you can send the survey to them directly.
-
Chain Letters: Chain letters and Internet folklore are prohibited.
-
Personal Messages: It is not appropriate to post personal messages to the list. Please send the e-mail directly to the recipient.
-
"Out Of Office" Automatic Responders: If you will be away from your e-mail and plan to use an "Out of Office" automatic reply feature, please unsubscribe from the e-mail discussion group while you are away and then re-subscribe when you return. Automatic e-mails cause the group a great deal of disruption.
If you have questions about posting to the list or a complaint or comment about a posting that was made to the list, please
We reserve the right to contact or unsubscribe individuals who abuse our policies.
Because The Creative Curriculum e-mail list is open to anyone who subscribes and because we cannot screen or edit postings, Teaching Strategies is not responsible for the content of the communications you receive from other members of the group. However, subscribers who abuse our policies will be removed from the list.
